    Overview

Take your photography to the next level with the EOS 60D DSLR camera from Canon. Thanks to its large 18MP APS C size CMOS sensor, this camera lets you capture photos with outstanding clarity and detail. The resolution of these captured images is so high that you can enlarge them for cropping without losing out on any of the image detail. The brilliant viewfinder on this camera offers a magnification of 0.95x and a viewing angle of 27degrees. Embedded within the viewfinder is a transparent LCD panel that displays important pieces of information that might come in handy when capturing photos or videos. The swiveling 3 Inch Vari Angle LCD screen of this camera lets you shoot images from any desired angle. Along with a viewing angle of 160degree, it provides up to 7 levels of brightness control.

ISO Range of up to 12,800

ISO Range of up to 12,800

The EOS 60D makes use of its broad range of ISO settings to capture clear photos in a wide range of lighting conditions. Using custom functions, the ISO range can be expanded up to 12,800. With improved high sensitivity optimization, you can record sharp images in dim lighting conditions at high shutter speeds. Even when using a flash or a tripod in such cases, your images will be less blurry and grainy. In bright scenes such as long exposure in daylight where you want to achieve the optimal exposure, you can use a completely open wide diameter lens without using a dark filter.

    Enhanced EOS HD Video Mode

    Enhanced EOS HD Video Mode

Considering what the EOS 60D brings to the table, you would feel as if it were designed for the photography purist. When shooting videos, you will be able to capitalize on the features that are the specialty of DSLR cameras. The EOS 60D enables you to take advantage of the features thought to be reserved for still photography. Along with manual controls, it offers access to a range of Canon EF and EFS lenses, including fisheye and macro lenses.

With all these features on offer, it becomes easy to capture stunning and realistic high definition videos even in complex lighting conditions. Using the Movie Crop function, you can trim SD (640 x 480) videos to about 7x magnification as compared to regular shooting. Along with a wind filter that eliminates the background noise, the EOS 60D also provides you with automatic and manual audio control and up to 64 selectable audio levels. With just the push of the quick control button, a simplistic GUI pops up on the main LCD screen. This GUI lets you adjust the image quality, white balance, image creation, and other such settings. You can even perform simple editing tasks such as trimming of videos from a designated point at the start or end of the video on the camera itself. The camera can be set to record in a number of frame rates and resolutions based on what you are doing.

You can shoot 1920 x 1080 Full HD videos at 30fps (29.97fps), 24fps (23.976fps), and 25 fps. The EOS 60D also provides you with numerous other recording sizes such as HD at 1280 x 720 (50/60fps) or SD/VGA at 640 x 480 (50/60fps). You can record at a frame rate of 24 or 30fps when shooting videos with cinema like motion, while 60fps is ideal when you want to upload the videos on social networking sites. A maximum size of 4GB is supported per video recording. The captured videos are saved in the MOV format. Thanks to the HDMI output, you can view the videos from the cameras on high definition screens. While the built in microphone allows for mono recording, you can purchase a self powered external microphone separately for recording stereo sound.

3 inch Vari Angle Clear View LCD Monitor

3 inch Vari Angle Clear View LCD Monitor

The 3 Inch Vari Angle Clear View LCD monitor of the EOS 60D makes shooting from awkward angles easy for you. It flips out of the camera body and can be adjusted in whichever way you want. You can effortlessly switch between high and low angles when shooting with a tripod, or when the camera has a battery grip attached.

    Continuous Shooting at 5.3fps

    Continuous Shooting at 5.3fps

The EOS 60D does everything you ask it to with mind blowing speeds. It can start up in just 0.1 seconds, and offers quick autofocus and a shutter with minimal lag. With a speed of 5.3 frames per second, the EOS 60D can capture up to 58 JPEG images and 16 RAW images in a single burst. This ensures that you capture even the most elusive moments.

Brilliant Viewfinder with 96 Percent Coverage

Brilliant Viewfinder with 96 Percent Coverage

The phenomenally redesigned viewfinder on the EOS 60D offers 96 percent coverage, 0.95x magnification, and a viewing angle of 27degrees. Along with manually adjustable dioptric settings, it also offers a newly designed transparent LCD that enables you to overlay a number of functions in the readout. A six level battery meter can be viewed on the left of the readout, and up to 3 stops have been added on the exposure level indicator scale. The arrows on the scaler point towards higher exposure levels.

    Image Conversion and Photo Effects

    Image Conversion and Photo Effects

Without using an outside computer, the EOS 60D lets you large RAW files into smaller JPEG ones and store them separately. This proves to be especially useful when you quickly want to send photos over the Internet. You can choose from among 10 process variables to create the image you want, in 3:2 aspect ratio that is native to 35mm film. These process variables include brightness adjustment, Picture Style, white balance, Auto Lighting Optimizer, noise reduction, color space, JPEG image-recording quality, lens peripheral illumination correction, distortion correction and chromatic aberrations correction.

When going on long trips, you might need more than just one memory card to store all your high definition footage. In such cases, you can use SD, SDXC, and SDHC memory cards with the EOS 60D. Compact and inexpensive, these cards are easily available.
